“Midnight Run” by ZEN, recorded sometime around 1989
I had never seen the movie Midnight Run, because at the time it was an “adult movie” and I was still a kid. But at age 10, I still had business savvy. And in efforts to promote my band and get exposure, I thought it would be a good idea to write a song for a movie (like they did for Ghostbusters and Batman). So I wrote the theme song for Midnight Run, even though I had no idea what the movie was about (and still to this day, I have never seen the movie).
Like many of songs from this time period, we had to start it out with some cheesy intro… Needless to say, this song was never officially released on the Midnight Run soundtrack… Lyrics below:
