“Two Eyeballs” by Mikal Britt, circa late 80s.

(pic of me (i especially like the skeleton bone pajama pants) with one of my first casio keyboards, which I probably used to make this Two Eyeballs song… which I recorded in one take on a boombox.)
So, I am posted this song as a tribute to the late, great Micheal Jackson. This is because I think my song “Two Eyeballs” was heavily inspired by Thriller. You know, this whole horror pop-music genre. Scary music you can dance to.
I don’t know if you can hear my lyrics, but the song is about going up into the attic (we had a cool, creepy attic when I was a kid that I loved to explore in)… and inside the attic are these two eyeballs rolling around. They roll around scaring people, until they arrive at a face. Then a head-less body comes walking down from the attic. Or something like that.
Yo, as a kid, Thriller was just the greatest god-damn thing in the world - it was everything - cool, scary, unique, visually interesting, dark, fun, different.
So, I am currently on honeymoon in Kauai with my beautiful and crafty new wife Chloe!! We are staying at the luxury Marriott resort, in the best room on the 10th floor, with this incredible view (I will never be able to thank Chloe’s father enough for this wonderful gift):

(this image was taken from a quick google image search, but this is literally the view we have every morning when we wake up)
Last night for dinner, Chloe researched and found (one of her amazing skills) a small, out-of-the-way locals only spot for Saimin noodles (like Ramen but better… the noodles are thicker). The place was called Hamura Saimin. It was a dirty, brightly flourescent lit shack, (a sharp contrast to the resort atmosphere we are staying at). If this restuarant was in LA, it would surely have a “D” rating, but the food was excellent!

I got this special Hawaiian strawberry soda called Diamond Head. It was ok, but I like trying drinks from other regions.

We also got this snack of Chinese Pretzels (TONG WAN), which was like crispy fried dough, and they were not very tasty - kind of boring, munchy food.

Right now there is a very friendly pheasant or loon sitting next to me. They are running all around the grounds of this Marriott. I think he wants food and is very accustomed to the tourists feeding him, like a dog staring at me with desperate eyes. But I like to think he is just truly enjoying my company and likes hanging out.
OK, gonna go swimming and sunning and exploring now… peace!
