One day while playing outside in Brian Ralston’s backyard, we somehow came up with this song, obviously ripping/riffing off a more famous song. But we were young and didn’t know better, so we started our first band, first called Soho, but then changed our name to ZEN. We did not know or care what the word Zen meant.
Brian was probably 8 years old, I was probably 10. Or maybe even younger? I can’t quite remember. Brian was on drums, and later in life he went on to grow up to be a great drummer. We were also using the casio sk-1 sampling keyboard («<click on this, it links to the original commercial from 1985) in this song.
