“Walkin’ Out the Door” by Bill Britt, circa late 1960s

Yesterday, there was a loud POUNDING NOISE that shook our house. We looked all over and outside the house, but could find no evidence of anything falling over or breaking. We decided it must’ve been PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE. “The Invisible Noise” was what Chloe called it. She thought it was a ghost of my dad. I started to believe it as well. This made me have a nice talk with my dad. Later, we learned it was not my dad in ghost form. Far from it. Turns out a space shuttle was landing near the Mojave Desert, when it entered our atmosphere, a giant SONIC BOOM shook through the air, reaching everyone in Los Angeles.
But it was nice momentarily believing that it was a visit from my dad.
Here is a song, in which I think he is playing every instrument, just recorded by himself on an old 4-track tape machine. The opening line, “don’t you know I get a funny kind of feeling when I look into your big brown eyes…” - - well, my mom has blue eyes, so this song isn’t about her. Must’ve been before he met her.
Anyway, hi dad!
