Josh & I met in the 4th grade at Schubert Elementary School at P.A.G. (a gifted youth program) and quickly became friends. In high school, he was the lead singer of our ska-rap-punk band (The Lightweights). Today, he is lead singer of his brooklyn based band SMALL BLACK, which has recently been getting a lot of hype on pitchfork. They just played 14 shows at SXSW and are currently on tour with the awesome WASHED OUT. So congrats to Josh because he hustled for a long time and I guess it finally paid off.
Josh did a chilled out 32 minute mix of glow-fi, no-fi, 80s neon music for the hipster rag Self Titled Magazine and about 3/4 of the way through the mix, he remixed one of my tracks with some vocals & keys. I like what he did a lot. And overall, it’s a pretty dope mix in general, SO CHECK IT OUT!!!
