I have been VERY excited about a bunch of new bands, excited about music in general!! So, I want to share some of the new stuff I have been listening to. Enjoy!
- Die Antwoord - a South African white-trash ghetto rap electro performance art crew with great production & crazy weird image/lyrics.
- Moss of Aura - a lo-fi 80s dreamy synth golden sunset instrumental experience.
- Sleigh Bells - an awesome Brooklyn duo mixing hip-hop beats, aggressive guitars, and a fierce, dreamy female vocalist. Incredible, powerful stuff. Incidentally, I found their other WEBSITE, which is MUCH cooler and apparently was created by someone who I follow here on tumblr.
- Shlohmo - a young kid creates awesome instrumentals of heavy lo-fi hip-hop feeling, stoned out day-dreamer collage beats.
- Active Child - cool & inspiring 80s infused surreal pop music.
- Twin Sister - a kind of dreamy, funky pop project with authentic feeling and grooves. I think, like most of these bands, they are straight outta Brooklyn.
- Eternal Summers - I am really loving this style of dreamy garage punk. So messy, so real, so fun! Really enjoy the vocals. Really want to see them live!
- Delorean - Another 80s synth feeling band, kinda reminds of Active Child who I mentioned above. With some Animal Collective style vocals.
