great idea

If you want to DOWNLOAD the MP3 version of this song, you can do it here:

This is a fairly recent tune. It’s called “Great Idea”. But really, this song was just a test song, messing with my Tascam 388. This song would be considered a B-side.

It uses a casio drum beat, some sample(s) but I forget where I got them, about three vocal tracks, and some bass being played off the prophet 600, but of course I can never hear the bass on my laptop speakers.

This song is going off the old idea - can I make this track interesting even though the beat doesn’t change much over the course of three minutes. Maybe this song is kind of boring, but it is also moody.

“I had a great idea / followed by some laughter / I just can’t make up my mind…”

You can’t let it stop you if people laugh at your idea(s). Sometimes it can be tough, but at certain times, you have to just say “screw everyone, I know I am right!” But remember, you are not always right. So please, don’t always think that you are always right. Because you’re not. Just be aware of the times when you know you are right.

“I saw a family of ducks / trying to cross the highway / walking in a straight line…”

I saw that at the park the other day. It was cool/cute.

ducks

“On my birthday I saw your face / it was up in the sky / way, way up, up in the sky…”

That can be anyone’s face. Depends who is listening to the song and when they are listening to it. The face might be God, might be your cat, your dad, your lover, a sibling, the devil, maybe even your own face. The face might be seen in the stars or in a cloud, or it might just appear like a floating hologram.

The expression on the face is usually just “staring down at you with no expression”. The face lets you know that NOTHING EVERYTHING is out there.
