A great song to really sum up my general mood(s) that “this is as good as it gets” and “this too shall pass” and “nothing really matters, and nothing is important, and it is all just practice, and everything is temporary”.

Other themes things: self-conflict, all you can do is try to do your best. And maybe sometimes your best isn’t too good. Sometimes your best might be flat out bad. Other times your best will be extraordinary. Ups and downs, “the waxing and waning of the caribou population”. It’s all just cycles. Let’s all go and re-watch Darren Aronofsky’s first film “pi”… (I wish I had a key on my computer that would produce the symbol for pi).

Sometimes my general mood(s) might be upbeat and happy. Sometimes I act that way, but really don’t feel that way. Everyone does this all the time. Everything all the time!

Anyway, here is another example of a song that I could do better if I re-recorded it. But I don’t re-record songs, I just write and record new ones.

This song lets you hover in a thick sea of sleepy despair until the drums finally drop around 1:45. This song is another 4-track cassette tape winner, recorded using my sampler, a casio keyboard, and a microphone.

I made a short video for this song, starring that sad footage of David Hasselhoff drunk and eating a hamburger topless (so wonderfully pathetic), intercut with some old school Night Rider footage. The video was to express some sympathy towards the guy, and look at him now, I think he’s doing pretty good these days. See, he was just trying to do the best he could.

The video ends with a slow push-in on a shot of the giant milky way universe, spinning around and around, until you are lost in the stars and you are not very big and your life is not very long, and in 100 years all these people will be gone and replaced by new people. I will post that video soon.
