SONG: “No Time To Pretend”

This is a new song I did on my tascam 388. Of all the recent “test material” I did on my 388, this is the song I am happiest with. I hope to do more stuff like this. This is the first song I am releasing under my new artist name “SHAHS (SHAMZ)”.
The lyrics for this song are kind of mysterious because I never wrote them out. I just did a quick take and made-up the lyrics and kind of fudged it together.
But I do like the chorus idea “there’s no time to pretend”… As in, life is short, there is no time to be anything else other than honest and true and real.
And yes, of course, I am aware of MGMT with there ideology “time to pretend”, but I think they are being sarcastic when they say it. Who knows? Who cares? I guess I am representing the opposite of MGMT.
Man, having 8 tracks to mess around on is infinitely better than 4 tracks. I like limitations and all, but it’s tough to make anything great on just 4 tracks. For example, in this song I can actually hear the bass playing underneath, something where on the 4 track I probably would not have had the room.
Anyway, this song represents the new kind of direction I am going in, so I hope you all enjoy it.
