nasty millionaire dad

Another song from the vaults of my dad’s old band with Mr. Phil Doyle. I am not sure of the release date of this song or even the name of the band at the time.

The myth behind this song is that it was written for a contest for the US army, to write their slogan or whatever. This was my dad’s submission, which has the chorus “you gotta be, all you can be….!”

But my dad did not win the contest, nor he ever recieve any credit for the army’s eventual slogan “be all you can be”.

And then there is part of this family story, where my mom’s dad gave my dad some advice (my mom’s dad wrote music for TV and commercials)… and the advice was along the lines of “that’s show business, there ain’t nothin you can do… just learn from this and be wiser next time…”

Well, I have probably made up about 50% of this family legend, but something like that happened, and this is my version of it.
